Julius Edmund "Ed" Theis

October 24, 1923 — October 15, 2015

Julius Edmund Theis 1923 2015 Ed made his crossing to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 15, 2015. He lived a happy and productive life with his family and friends. Ed was born on October 24, 1923 to Edmund Wilhelm and Lillie Mae Theis of Hull-Daisetta. They had five children, three girls, and two boys. They moved to Port Neches in 1941 after Ed graduated from Hull-Daisetta High School. Ed went to work for Gulf Oil and married Margie Schneider of Houston in 1945. They had two boys, Russell Theis and wife Betty and Ross Theis and wife Denise. Margie died in 2007 after 62 years of marriage. Ed has 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. His priorities were God, Family, and Country. He loved his family very much and would do anything to help. Ed enjoyed RV camping, his lake home at Ivanhoe (Woodville), and gardening. He enjoyed family reunions, and holidays with family, dominos, and all the good food. Ed and Margie were members of St. John Lutheran Church since 1945 and enjoyed their church friends very much. Ed sang in the choir, council member, ushered, taught Sunday school, and worked on various committees for the church. Ed was a bulk oil supervisor for Gulf Oil and retired in 1984 with 45 years of service. He is also a member of Groves Masonic Lodge #1315. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches with Reverend Dean Crites officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the funeral home. He will be greatly missed, but as he always said, "I lived a good life and enjoyed the ride." Rest in Peace Ed. All our love now and always.
