June Silkwood Carrier of Port Neches, Texas passed away Monday, October 10, 2016. June was born May 14, 1929 in Waurika, Oklahoma to Haskell H. Silkwood and Edith Williams Silkwood. June was a lifelong area resident and member of First Baptist Church of Port Arthur, and volunteered as a pink lady at Park Place Hospital for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband L. D. Carrier, Jr. Survivors include her daughter, Kim Miles and her husband David of Orange; son, Jeff Carrier of Port Neches; brother, Haskell George Silkwood and his wife Marylin of Houston; five grandchildren, Crystal Carrier, Michael Carrier, Chris Miles, Kevin Miles, Katie Chambless; three great-grandchildren, Chloe Morrison, Mackenzie Carrier, and Karleigh Miles. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2016 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
