Katelyn Marie Porras, 26, of Port Neches, Texas passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021. Katelyn was born in Port Arthur, Texas on June 15, 1995 to Ross Porras and Laura Gunter.

Katelyn was a wonderful Mom with a great sense of humor, she loved music, dancing, outdoor activities, working out, traveling, hiking and riding dirt bikes.

Katelyn is preceded in death by her grandparents, Leo Porras and Mary Porras.

Those left to cherish Katelyn’s memory include her mother, Laura Gunter and her husband, Roger of Port Neches, TX; her father, Ross Porras of Beaumont, TX; her children, Mace Girolamo, Nora Porras and Kimber Walker; her siblings, Keyton Porras and Alicia Porras, Skyler Porras and Becca Bartels, Dryden Porras and Kassie Coffey, and Breleigh Porras; her niece and nephew, Adrian and Vivian Porras; grandparents, Wayne Gunter, Laurie Gunter, Sandy Monarch and Roger Monarch; her boyfriend, Andy Walker; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Monday evening, November 1, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday morning, November 2, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with burial at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. Pastor Forest Hamilton will officiate the service.

Somehow through my own haphazard traverse of existence I came across Roger and Laura. Two of my favorite people on this marble spinning into eternity. Through that friendship I was introduced to this the tiny chipmunk that used to fall asleep in my lap sucking her thumb. From balancing on my head while I played video games with your brothers, to the metamorphosis of young adulthood. Your energy, intelligence, and beauty was immense. Fortunate does not begin to convey how appreciative I am to cross paths with this family. I also know how strong you all are. My deepest condolences and unwaivering support are yours if need be. I moved to Port Neches in 2005 and Katie was in almost every class from 6 grade to 12. We also went together to a awkward middle school dance lol . She is a kind soul with a wonderful smile! Prayers for her family!

To the people in Katelyn’s life that she always talked to me about… Her Mom, her Brother Keyton, her Dad, her little sister and other family & friends! Katelyn use to share stories about all of you, with me! My heart hurts so much for all of you! She worked with me for a few years and I learned so much about her. Her wonderful love for her kids, family, life! Her pursuit to enter school against all odds. Her sweet smile and loving heart I got to know so well! Katie was 3. The boys and her cousins were riding bikes in the street at my parents. Katie couldn't leave the driveway..she came up to Brandon, my mom and I and showed us 5 fingers saying she couldn't wait to be that many so she could ride in the street with the boys.
