Katherine Abney Davis, 42, of Vidor, Texas passed away at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Beaumont on Monday, November 28, 2022. Katherine was born on February 17, 1980 to the late Richard Earl Abney and Lee Anna Abney.

Katherine was a lifelong member of the Beaumont area and a graduate of Westbrook High School. She enjoyed knitting and practicing cosmetology, but her favorite thing to do was cook. In fact, she aspired to one day attend a culinary school to master her cooking skills. Katherine was a loving wife and mother who dedicated her time to caring for and loving her family, and she will be missed by all who knew her.

Those left behind to cherish Katherine’s memory are her loving husband, J. L. Davis III; her sons, Richard E. Abney, Reese P. Abney, Hunter L. Davis; her sister, Michelle Roshto-Laborde; and her nephews, James Hodges, Robert Hodges and her niece Laura Hodges.

A gathering of family and friends for a visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas.
