Precious Aunt Kat was so thoughtful; always remembering us with a Christmas card or kind gesture. Time often slides by so fast that we don't give enough time to those that are special to us. I'm so grateful that we took the time and got to see her not long ago. Love and prayers for her and the family.

I was once very close to Kathy & Elwood many years ago. Her daughter Donita was my first love and we were married in Sept. 1964. Sadly our marriage ended in June of 1969, Donita and I remained friends for many years after we went our separate ways. I never fully understood why we parted ways & I regret that I never asked her why this happened. I loved her very much and we came close to reuniting a couple times but it wasn't to be. I remember doing so much with her and her mother & dad. We went sailing together, went to visit her grandparents in Ringold & Jamestown, La., took trips together up to Dallas to the jewelry shows they had up there. I used to go by there stores both the first one in downtown Port Neches and the newer one in Nederland to just say hello and visit for a while when I was in that area. I will never forget the Burkett family for they were once a big part of my life. My sorrow goes out to Donita's daughter and the rest of the family. Donita was a beautiful girl who I will have memories in heart for all my life. God bless you Kathy. For you are now reunited with your beloved husband Elwood & your daughter Donita. I just wanted to say something that was from my heart.

Sweet Kathy was one of my mom's dearest friends and they spent many hours serving God at the church. She was a precious friend to my entire family and we will cherish her joyful smile and generous heart. I love you, Kathy and hope you, mom, and dad are catching up. God be with your family and share His mercy with all. Shalom.

I have known Kathy and her late husband for years and I know they are both rejoicing being together again.Kathy always had a smile on her face and was loved by all she knew. This past Christmas the choir from Port Neches United Methodist Church went to her house caroling and after we were through I went up to her and hugged her and told her she was still the pretty lady I have known for years. Rest in Peace Pretty Lady.
