Katie Louise "Mama Kat" Wactor, 89, of Port Neches, Texas passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019. Louise was born September 9, 1929 in Newllton, Louisiana to Bolton Mercer and Mertie Dove Mercer. She was a longtime area resident and homemaker. After raising her children she went to work at K-Mart for 18 years. Louise enjoyed playing casino games, but her favorite thing was going to the beach and finding seashells. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray Wactor; sister, Betty Reid; brothers, Alvin Mercer, Alton Mercer, and Alford Mercer; and son, Macky Wayne Wactor. Survivors include her sons, Bobby Ray Wactor, James Edward Wactor, Raymond Lee Wactor, Tommy Gene Wactor and Morris Glenn Wactor; daughters, Dorris Ann Wactor, Mary Louise Wactor, and Kathleen Marie Wactor; grandchildren, Jerry Ray Wactor, James Edward Wactor Jr., Sabrina Louise Rode LeMaire, Tiffany Marie Resch, Steven Ray Rode, David Ray Wactor, Joseph Edward Wellman, Christy Lynn Jenkins, Michael Shoemaker, Sherry Ann Espinoza Norris, Terry Espinoza, Ashley Jeanette Newman; and sixteen great-grandchildren. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 12 p.m. noon, Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
