Kenneth Wayne Duhon, 80, of Port Acres, Texas passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at his residence in Port Acres surrounded by his loving family.
Kenneth was born on July 19, 1942, in Lafayette, Louisiana to Maude Avant Duhon and Thurston Louis Duhon. He was a retired operator/welder with Veolia Refinery in Port Arthur and a member of the St. Therese of the Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church in Port Acres where he served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years. Kenneth loved to play golf and was part of the morning game at Babe Zaharias Golf Course in Port Arthur. He also liked to go dancing at Larry’s French Market and other venues and clubs; he enjoyed going to the casino in Louisiana and also loved to go to rodeo’s and even did calf roping in his younger days.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Thurston and Maude Duhon and his daughter, Kelley Bergeron who passed away on November 4, 2018.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-eight years, Elizabeth “Becky” Duhon of Port Acres; children, Dayna LeBleu and her husband, Lynn of Crowley, Louisiana, Kennie Duhon of LaBelle, Texas, Katie Brown and her husband, Glen of Port Arthur, Kasey Duhon of Fannett and Kenneth Duhon, II “K.W.”, and his wife, Lola of Beaumont; brothers, Terry Duhon and his wife, Enola of Mire, Louisiana and Mark Duhon and his wife, Dianna “Diane” of Rayne, Louisiana; grandchildren, Rachel Meaux, Samuel LeBleu, Randy LeBleu, Chelsea Jennings, Jude Bergeron, Trey Villemez, Lindsey Hone, Hope Minaldi, Ryleigh Duhon, Heather Abshire, Tyler Brown and Olivia Duhon; 14 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and other family members who loved him dearly.
A Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Melancon's Funeral Home in Nederland with a visitation to follow from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2022, at St. Therese the Little Flower Catholic Church in Port Acres. Cremation services will take place at a later date and time.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Kasey Duhon, Kenneth Duhon, II “K.W.”, Trey Villemez, Jude Bergeron, Tyler Brown and Garrett Minaldi.
