Kenneth Harold Harris

Kenneth Harold Harris, 80, of Nederland passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021. Kenneth was born November 6, 1940 in Longview, Texas to Samul and Rosie Harris. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy and retired from Setzer Hardware Store in Nederland after 52 years of service.
Kenneth began working for Setzer Hardware Store in Nederland when he was 24 years old after serving in the U.S. Navy and would go on to dedicate 52 years of his life to the store. If you are one of Setzer’s regular customers, you probably knew him as “The guy with the ropes around his knees” and you would also ask for him because he would know exactly what you needed. Even though Kenneth never realized it, he was a pillar within the community and has helped countless individuals with many “Do it yourself” projects. He always knew not only exactly what you needed, but he knew exactly where in the store it would be found. Kenneth is loved by the community and will be dearly missed.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Samul Marian Harris and Rosie Delia Kerns Harris; his sister, Shirley Alexander; and his brother, Joey Harris.
Those left to cherish Kenneth’s memory include his co-workers and numerous friends within the community.
A memorial service to honor Kenneth’s life will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2021 from 1:00-3:00 at Setzer Hardware.
