Kevin Grinnell, a beloved resident of Port Neches, Texas, passed away on Thursday, July 20th, 2023, at the age of 58, joining his Lord and Savior.
Born on January 30th, 1965, Kevin was the cherished child of Elizabeth Waldrop Grinnell and Wiley Grinnell, Jr. He completed his education at Port Neches High School in 1983 and later served in the United States Army. He then embarked on an entrepreneurial journey, establishing and owning Grinnell Computers and Security in Beaumont, Texas, where he dedicated many years to serving his community.
Kevin had a passion for cooking, a deep love for music, and most importantly his family and friends. He found joy in outdoor activities such as golf, deep water diving, snorkeling, and anything related to water. Kevin shared a love for creating his specialty drinks such as margaritas, espresso martinis, and mules. His infectious smile, quick wit, and genuine affection for people is what friends and family adored most.
An excellent storyteller, Kevin's tales, fondly referred to as "Kevinism's," captivated everyone around him. He held his family dearly and relished shared vacations, creating cherished memories together. Kevin's warmth extended beyond his biological family, embracing his adopted family as his own.
Kevin leaves behind his beloved wife, Trudy Odom Grinnell of Port Neches, Texas, as well as his adored son, Victor "Vic" Aponte of Port Neches. He also cherished Steve and Hazel Odom, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kim and Keith LaBier, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, and respective children, who all became like his own family. Among his cherished companions were his bird, Loki, and his fur babies, Yogi, Winston, Tucker, and Cooper.
On Saturday, July 29th, 2023, a gathering of family and friends will be held in remembrance of Kevin's life at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas. Visitation will be at 3:00 p.m. and service at 4:00 p.m.
Kevin's spirit will live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate to have known and loved him. May he rest in eternal peace.
