Kirby Cornor Trahan 96, of Vidor, Texas passed away on May 2, 2022, at Oakwood Manor in Vidor, Texas.
Kirby was born on May 6, 1925 in Abbeville, Louisiana, to Bernadette Faulk Corner and Eriste Corner. She was a retired cafeteria worker for the Vermillion Parish I.S.D. for twenty years and was a member of the St. Theresa Catholic Church in Abbeville. Kirby liked to read and spend time with her family especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was very religious and was very committed to the Catholic faith.
Survivors include her son, Leeward “Lee” Trahan of Groves; daughter, Mary Winegart and her husband George of Youngsville, Louisiana; brother, Adonis Cornor and his wife Mary of Erath, Louisiana; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Kirby is preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Elsie Dore and Margaret Fowler; sisters, Elise, Mildred Theall and Goldie Schick and finally her husband, Eldridge Trahan who passed away on June 4, 2004.
A visitation will take place from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2022, at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Abbeville with burial to follow at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in Abbeville under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home.
