Kyle Gene Cogswell, 59, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022. Kyle was born on December 7, 1962, in Port Arthur, Texas to the late Billy Cogswell and Beverly Kasper Cogswell.
Kyle was a life-long resident of the Nederland area. He was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Nederland and belonged to the Pipefitters Local 195 for over 30 years. Kyle was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Nederland Bulldogs, Texas Longhorn Football, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Houston Astros. Growing up, Kyle was a tremendous athlete that loved to compete, and he even played in a softball league with his co-workers for many years as an adult. Kyle was a loving son, brother and uncle, and he will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Those left behind to cherish Kyle’s memory are his sister, Keela Johnson and her husband, Mike of Center, Texas; brother, Kirk Cogswell of Oak Harbor, Washington; nephew, Austin Johnson and his wife, Krystin of Center, Texas; nephew, Anthony Johnson of Virginia; great-niece, Nicole Johnson; great-niece, Kate Johnson; and numerous loving family members and friends. Kyle is preceded in death by his parents.
A gathering of family and friends to honor the life of Kyle Gene Cogswell will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Melancon's Funeral Home in Nederland. The Funeral Service will immediately follow the visitation and will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Nederland Babe Ruth Baseball League.
