Larry D. "Showtime" Ballard Larry D. "Showtime" Ballard, 69, of Groves, Texas passed away Friday, December 5, 2014 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. He was born on September 7, 1945 in Nederland, Texas to Roy Ballard and Katherine Shuford Ballard. Larry was a 1965 graduate of Port Neches Groves High School where he was a star football player, #44, for the Indians and continued to play ball for the University of Houston while earning his college degree. He retired from The State of Texas as an Oil and Gas Inspector. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2014 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. A visitation for family and friends will be Monday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Felicia Ballard. He is survived by his daughter, Heather Abshire and husband, Jordan of Groves, two sisters, Charlexa Smith and husband, J.R. of Beaumont, and Sue Tally of North Carolina, brother, Billy Ballard and wife, Janice of Kemah, and one granddaughter, Madalyn Abshire.
