Larry Elliott, originally from Nederland, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2021 at the age of 77.
Larry was born in Olla, Louisiana on September 27, 1943 to James Robert Elliott and Sybil Banks Elliott. The family soon relocated to Nederland, Texas where Larry was raised. After graduating from Nederland High School, Larry joined the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged, Larry attended Lamar University receiving his Bachelors in Business Administration in 1970. He went on to build a long and successful career as a catastrophe insurance adjuster with Crawford & Co. He lived in China, Texas and in later years resided in Stuart, Florida. In his free time he enjoyed horses, stock car racing and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife Gail Elliott, his mother and father, his siblings Mike, Ricky, Marsha and brother-in-law Harry Courts. He is survived by his loving daughters Lara and son-in-law Doug Harvill, April and son-in-law Chris Kesselring and Rachel Courts; his sister Rhetta Sue Parette and brother-in-law Robert and grandkids Nolan and Mason Harvill and Sofia and Giovanni Coquis.
The family will gather for a visitation and funeral service at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas on Wednesday, August 4 2021. Larry will be laid to rest at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas at a later date.
