Larry John Prince

Larry John Prince, 79, of Groves, Texas passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Mid-Jefferson Extended Care Hospital in Nederland. Larry was born December 3, 1940 in Groves, Texas to Leward Prince and Edith Hoffpauir Prince. He was a lifelong area resident. Larry was retired from the U. S. Navy having served in the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian Prince; grandson, Johnathan Duke; and great-granddaughter, Melissa Moore. Survivors include his daugthters, Edith Pitre and husband Michael of Groves, and Jessie DeRutte and husband Marcus of Port Arthur; son, Leslie Prince and wife Roberta of Port Neches; sisters, Cheryl Brown and husband Hank of San Antonio, and Eileen Freeman and husband Mitchell of Sam Rayburn; brother, Wade Prince and wife Nancy of Lumberton; grandchildren, Shawna Moore, Leslie Prince, Jr., Kimberly Tyson, Brittany McGraw, Eric Duke, Nathan DeRutte, Jordan DeRutte, Eathan DeRutte, Reece Prince, Vonnie Pitre, Zack Pitre; and eight great-grandchildren. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Kyle Trahan officiating. Burial will be at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.

So sorry to hear of Larry's passing. We both hired in together with Larry at the Texaco refinery in Port Arthur back in 1981. We remember Larry as always smiling, laughing and energetic, just an unforgettable person. God Bless and keep Larry in His hands always
