Larry Dean Schmuck of Groves passed away at Harbor Hospice in Pearland on April 10, 2015, at the age of 55 after a courageous battle with liver cancer. Larry is predeceased by, his parents, T.C. and Olive Schmuck, and his brother, Buddy Lynn. Larry was a member of Carpenters' Way Fellowship church, where he recommitted his life to Christ and was baptized in 2013. Larry is lovingly remembered by his son Joshua Dean Schmuck of Bridge City and his fianc Amanda Smith of Groves. He was cherished by his sister Linda Broussard and husband, Ken, of Bridge City, and his niece Shea Broussard of Durham, NC. "Poppy" will always be missed by his grandchildren, Maddison and Silas. Larry was born in Beaumont, TX, May 5, 1959, graduated from East Chambers High School in 1977 and went on to earn a degree as Physical Therapist Assistant. He was employed in area hospital rehabilitation units but shortly went to work in nursing homes due to his love for elderly patients. Larry was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed golfing, loved the beach, and watched Astros and Texans games faithfully. Larry had a passion for horses and rodeos, often competing in earlier years. The memorial service will be held at Levingston Funeral Home, 5601 39th St., Groves, on Tuesday, April 21, from 5:00 to 7:00. His pastor, Pat Cammarata, will officiate.

I enjoyed working with Larry when I worked as a home health nurse. He always had a smile and a joke. I know his family will miss him.
