Laura A. Willey, 87, of Nederland, Texas passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont. She was born December 8, 1930 in Orlando, Florida to the late, William Alexander Cox and Lovie Beatrice Johnson Cox.
Laura is survived by her husband of 69 years, John “Doc” Willey of Nederland, Texas; his daughters, Linda Valla and her husband, Jay of Chuluota, Florida and Dorothy D. Rodgers and her husband, Mike of Nederland, Texas; her granddaughter, Sherry White and her husband, Chris of Plano, Texas; her grandson, Andy Rodgers and his wife, Sarah of Nederland, Texas; and her great-grandson, Kane Rodgers of Nederland, Texas. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Willey; and her brothers, Bob J. Cox and George Cox.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. The funeral service will be Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.
