Laurie DeKerlegand Bethel, 89, of Groves, Texas died Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas. Laurie was born April 9, 1925 in Arnaudville, Louisiana to I. J. DeKerlegand and Odile Naquin DeKerlegand. She was a lifelong resident of the Port Arthur/Groves area and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was Owner and Operator of Royal Caf in Port Arthur for many years. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches with Reverend Dr. Jesse Brannen officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A Scriptural Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014 with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Laurie was preceded in death by her husband, J.S. Bethel, son-in-law, Randy Hardy, three sisters, and four brothers. Surviving relatives include her daughter, Patti Hardy of Port Neches, Texas; sister, Cecile Cooper of Groves, Texas; and granddaughter, Breanne Brown of Port Neches, Texas.
