Lavelle Moak Carter, 84, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. Lavelle was born October 16, 1930 in McComb, Mississippi to Nolan Moak and Velma Smith Moak. She was an area resident for 60 years and member of Old River Baptist Church in Mont Belvieu. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Carter, Sr. Survivors include three sons, Kenneth E. Carter, Jr., Mark David Carter, and Mitchel Paul Carter; and one sister, Mary Louise Bean; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.
