Lavelle Miller, 79, of Groves, Texas passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012. Lavelle was born March 9, 1933 in Geneva County, Alabama to Will Thompson and Effie Mims Thompson. She was a resident of Groves for 60 years and member of Victory Temple. Survivors include her husband, Carlton Miller of Groves; sons, William Dean Miller and wife, Carroll of Jasper, Nolan Miller and wife, Becky of Port Neches, Hal Wesley Miller and wife, Muriel of Lumberton; sisters, Dorothy McWhirter of Daphne, AL, Arvie Neal of Jacksonville, FL, Olive Trant of Geneva, AL; brother, Doferice Thompson of Holmes County, FL; grandchildren, Darin Miller, Andrea Lavelle Owens, Kathleen LeBoeuf, Virginia Matteson, Rebecca Watkins, Amber Miller, Lindsey Miller; and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas with Reverend Robert Turnage officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Sis. Miller sat next to me in the church choir for several years. I will always remember how nice she was to me and how funny she was. She always kept me laughing and was a really sweet lady. I loved her she was great. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. Amber Whitten
