Lawrence Cousins, Jr., 87, of Groves, Texas passed away Monday, November 6, 2017 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. Lawrence was born February 8, 1930 in Algiers, Louisiana to Lawrence Cousins and Vivian Lannes Cousins. Lawrence was a resident of this area for 73 years and longtime member of Groves First United Methodist Church. He retired from Texaco as a supervisor at the #3 Cat after 40 years of service. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Jackie Cousins of Groves; three sons, Lawrence Cousins III and wife Linda of Groves, Douglas Cousins and wife Karen of Spring, Brandon Cousins and wife Sharon of Groves; brother, Melvin Cousins and wife JoAnna of Nederland, five grandchildren, Casey Cousins and wife Marcela, Danielle Cousins, Katrina Cousins, Adina Cousins, and Angelina Cousins; great-grandchildren, Justin Myatt and wife Jessica, Julia Myatt, Tyler Battenfield, and Alyssa Battenfield. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 10, 2017 at Groves First United Methodist Church with Reverend Marty Boddie officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.
