He was born in Rayne, Louisiana on November 28, 1929 to the late Valerie and Ursula Richard Roy. He lived in Nederland for over 40 years. He retired from DuPont where he worked as a mechanic and he ran the BRAD club for many years. He proudly served his country during the Korean War in the U. S. Army. Lennis was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Nederland, American Legion Post 0493, and the Eagles Lodge 3743. L.P. loved to dance and always lent a helping hand at benefits. He enjoyed being with his family and friends and having a good time.He was the loving husband of Teresa Roy of Nederland devoted father of Mike Roy and wife, Barbara of Port Neches and Dwayne Roy of Port Neches brother of Dallas Roy and wife, Gloria of Nederland cherished grandfather of 3 grandchildren, Tracy Thornwell of Arlington, Martin Alston of Nederland, and Kelly Gerlach of Bridge City, and 5 greatgrandchildren.A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, April 20, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Nederland. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
