Lenword "Buck" Rogers, 83, of Colmesneil, Texas died Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Christus Dubuis Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. Lenword was born February 1, 1928 in Escatawpa, Mississippi to Lenward Lee Rogers and Hattie Mae Hester Rogers. He was a 20 year resident of Colmesneil, Texas and a retired Pipefitter/Welder at Texaco Chemical with 39 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Spurger and a member and past Master of Snow River Masonic Lodge #385 in Spurger. He was also a past Monarch of Cashan Grotto and a member of El Mina Shriners. Memorial service will be held Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Mid-County Baptist Church on Jerry Drive in Nederland. Lenword was preceded in death by his sister, Rethel Whatley and brother, Carl Rogers. Surviving relatives include his wife, Charlotte Rogers of Colmesneil, Texas; daughter, Patricia Fox and husband Gary of Nederland, Texas; step-daughter, Pam Reeves and husband Pat of Groves, Texas; son, Joe Rogers of Groves, Texas; step-son, Troy Goodsell and wife Veronica of Brookeland, Texas; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

I knew "Buck" at Jefferson Chemical and till I retired in 1994. Untill you got to know him he would almost frighten you with his vibrant voice and presence! But then I knew him as a "good guy" My condolences to the family, I know he will be missed.
