Leo Thomas Desormeaux, Sr., 99, of Groves, Texas passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016 in Vidor, Texas. Leo was born February 20, 1917 in Hayes, Louisiana to Myrtle Holland Desormeaux and Euclide Desormeaux. He retired from Neches Butane with 37 years of service as a Machinist. Leo was a member of Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Church in Port Arthur for 69 years where he served as Deacon, Head Usher, and Sunday School Superintendent and filled other positions. He was also a member of the Machinist Local. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 17, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. at Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Church, 10169 Memorial Blvd. Port Arthur, Texas 77640, with Reverend Randy Hammer officiating. A graveside service will be held Monday, April 18, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Leo was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Desormeaux, daughter, Patricia Martin, two brothers, Lloyd Desormeaux and James Desormeaux, and sister, Della Marsh. Surviving relatives include his daughters, Melba Rae Smith and husband Burl of Cookville, Tennessee; Karen Sue Buxton and husband Reverend Ted Buxton of Livingston, Texas; son, Leo Thomas Desormeaux, Jr. and wife Ethel Jo of Vidor, Texas; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren.
