Leon Dupree

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Leon Dupree, a devoted member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves and a retired Electronics Technician for Sabine Towing - Transportation. Leon, known for his unwavering dedication and kind-hearted nature, departed from this world on June 20, 2024, in Saratoga, Texas.

Born on May 17, 1927, in Opelousas, Louisiana, Leon lived a life filled with love and compassion. His presence brought light and joy to all those around him. Throughout his life Leon was cherished as a loving Father and Grandfather, leaving behind beautiful memories that will forever be treasured.

Leon is survived by his beloved family members who will deeply miss him. He is survived by his daughters, Margaret Hudgins of Lumberton, Barbara Wilson of Saratoga, Sybrena Walston and her husband, Ronnie of Beaumont; his sons, Glenn Dupree of Sour Lake and James Dupree of the Philippines. Additionally, he leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by one sister from Louisiana.

In eternity, Leon now joins his wife of 44 years, Antonia Dupree who preceded him in death along with his grandsons, Mark Wilson and Glen Dupree Jr., his sister, Ethel Bergdolf, and numerous brothers and sisters.

The visitation to honor the life of Leon Dupree will take place on June 24, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home 5601 39th Street in Groves. Following the visitation service, a Funeral Service will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church located at 4100 Lincoln Avenue in Groves 2:00 PM to pay tribute to an exceptional man who touched countless lives.

The interment will be at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.

May we find solace in the memories shared with Leon Dupree during this difficult time. His legacy of love and kindness will forever live on in our hearts.

To Leon’s family, I’m so sorry for your deep heart loss yet I’m glad your Dad is out of his misery. I had grown up knowing him to always be a kind and gentleman. I only knew y’all when you were very young. I’m the youngest of the big Picou family from LaBelle. ❤️ Hopefully you enjoyed the flowers I had sent.
