Leon J. Hebert, 80, of Nederland, Texas passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016. Leon was born October 11, 1936 in Beaumont, Texas to Remie Hebert and Levie Poche Hebert. He was a lifelong resident of this area and retired from Lincoln Welding Supply with 44 years of service. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the funeral home. Leon was preceded in death by his wife, E. Lloyd Hebert, and his sister, Marie Madaffri. Surviving relatives include his daughter, Shelly Andrus and her husband Allen of Nederland, Texas; step-daughter, Kellye Lucas and her husband James of Houston, Texas; sons, Cris Hebert and his wife Susan of Nederland, Texas; Scott Hebert of Beaumont, Texas; Stephen Hebert and his wife Melissa of Houston, Texas; Kory Hebert of Beaumont, Texas; step-son, Michael McCowan of Groves, Texas; sisters, Elsie Allen and her husband Richard of Nederland, Texas; Lois Curran of Houston, Texas; 6 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren

Leon's passing has surely saddened us all. Our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to a special man who had become a part of our family. We will miss his voice, his laughter and the visits we were able to share. May the grace of God bring comfort and peace and hold close each member of the Hebert family during this difficult time. Leon, you will never be forgotten.

My condolences to all of Leon's family, friends and acquaintances. He was a very special man to our family and he was such a joy to know. He always had a smile and a laugh for us. I loved the fact that he and my Mom had such a good time together and that they brought out the best in each other. He will be missed beyond words and a piece of our heart went with him. Such sadness at the passing of Leon. Always a joy to be around. Leon's kindness and love will be missed. I have dream catchers that I love, Leon brought me one that when I look at it I think of him. My heart goes out to the family of Leon.
