Leon McMillan, 82, of Nederland, passed away on November 17, 2011 at Cypress Glen Nursing Home in Port Arthur. Funeral Services will be at 10 AM, Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Melancon39s Funeral Home in Nederland with Rev. Steve Havard officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 8 PM, Monday, November 21, 2011 at the funeral home. Leon was born January 26, 1929 to the late Angus Evia Moore McMillan in Lone Oak, Texas. Leon retired from Texaco after 35 years of service. He is survived by his daughter, Sheri Robbins and husband Drew of Port Neches, his son Tim McMillan wife Renee39 of Bridge City, his brother Talmadge McMillan of Terrell, grandchildren: Amanda Hand, Leticia Sedatole, Shelby McMillan, Landon Louviere, Jerry Belk, Alicia Bryant, Lisa Robbins, Heather Robbins, greatgrandchildren: Hailey Hand, Alyssa Sedatole, Leon is preceded by his parents, his wife, Mary McMillan, his sisters, Cleon Briggs Johnnie Romine and his brother, Waldo McMillan.

I had the opportunity to meet Leon during the 1990s through our Sunday School class. He was delightful and a joy to be around. I am thankful to have known him briefly.
