Groves

Lillian Graham, age 99, of Groves, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Oak Grove Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 24, 1925, in DeRidder, Louisiana, Lillian embodied strength and grace throughout her extraordinary life, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Lillian retired as the dedicated cafeteria manager from Port Neches Middle School at the age of 75. Her commitment to her work was evident in her joyful interactions with her co-workers, whom the ladies affectionately called themselves "Graham's Girls." Together, they formed bonds that blossomed into treasured friendships, often sharing laughter over meals and creating memories on trips together. Lillian's nurturing spirit extended beyond her work and into her home, where she was the matriarch of a loving family who cherished her deeply.

Her greatest loves were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who filled her days with joy and laughter. With a heart full of warmth, Lillian was known for her wonderful cooking, relishing the moments spent serving her family around the table. Exuding vitality and vigor, she remained healthy throughout her life, complemented by her passion for walking and an ardent love for gardening and crossword puzzles.

An esteemed member of Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Church in Port Arthur, Lillian held the honor of being the longest charter member for an incredible seventy-four years. She was recognized for her faithfulness, dependability, and independence, traits that inspired those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Lillian is survived by her loving children, Ronnie Graham and his wife Sheryl of Lumberton, Texas; and Sharon Braneff and her husband Arthur of Orangefield, Texas. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Matt Braneff and his wife Sabrina, Justin Braneff and his wife Brandy, and Brandon Braneff, alongside her great-grandchildren: Logan, Zack, Blake, Colby, Caroline, and Carleigh Braneff. She is also survived by her sister, Arlene Crapse of San Antonio, Texas.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Bessie and Albert Midkiff; her spouse, Sherman Lee Graham; her son, Dennis Graham; grandson, Dylan Graham; and siblings, Al Midkiff and Geraldine "Gerri" Cottee.
