Lillian "Lilll" McCaleb

Lillian D. McCaleb, of Port Neches, TX., was born December 22, 1936 in Issaquah, WA. Lill joined her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and heavenly family on January 20, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hendrik and Pieterje Bakker Dolleman; brothers, Frank, Mike and Harry; sisters, Johanna Perry, Katherine Kennedy and Eva Murphy. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Bill McCaleb; sons, Brent and Brad, his wife Elaine; grandchildren, Chris, Rachel, Noah, Sarah, Ben, his wife, Cynthia, Josh, his wife Christa; and great grandson, Isaiah; brother, Lee; sisters, Dorothy Herzog and Henrietta Burns; and many other relatives and friends.

After joining the First Baptist Church Port Neches, TX., Lill was hired as the Pastor’s Secretary where she served five pastors during a 38 ½ year career. As church members, she and husband Bill served side-by-side starting the Young Married Couples Class. She was also a Sunday school teacher and sang in the church choir and Ladies Ensemble. Her ministry impacted many lives over the years. Lill was also a devoted participant in the Bible Study Fellowship (BSF).

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 25th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home located at 1605 Avenue H in Nederland, TX with the funeral service to begin at 12:00 p.m. immediately following the visitation. A graveside service will be held at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, TX., following the service. At Lill’s request, in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Carol Stefflen or Roy Esquivel Scholarship Funds, or to First Baptist Church Port Neches.
