Lincoln Averon Byrd, 93, of Port Neches, Texas passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. A native of Florien, Louisiana he lived in Port Neches 58 years and was a member of Central Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon Emeritus. Lincoln worked at B.F. Goodrich 36 years before retiring February 2, 1984 as maintenance supervisor. He then served the Lord at Central Baptist Church as custodian for 20 years. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. The funeral service will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Wilton Anthony of Zion Hill Church in Many, Louisiana and Reverend Dustin Byrd, Youth Pastor of First Baptist Church of Groves officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. Lincoln was preceded in death by his parents, Neely Hunter Byrd and Gussie Lynch Byrd, beloved grandson, Jason Anthony Byrd, and his wife of 62 years, Jessie Lea Byrd. He is survived by two sons, Jerald Byrd and wife Debra of Jonesborough, TN and Donald Byrd and wife Vicki of Port Neches, TX; granddaughter Natasha Cecka and husband Grant; grandson Dustin Byrd and wife Erin, four great grandchildren, Austin Ronning, Foster Cecka, Rachel Emma Byrd and Kailyn Olivia Byrd, sister; Lucille Magart of Shreveport, LA and two brothers, Howard Byrd and wife Faye of Port Arthur, TX and Harold Byrd of Lufkin, TX. The family would like to thank Heart-to-Heart Hospice for their loving care and support.
