I remember Linda not only as a colleague but as that chatterbox, mischievous young lady in my 11th grade classroom. I admired her courage and love of life. My condolences to her family. Gloria Noel

She was a blast as a history teacher. A genuinely bautiful soul. I remember when Jackie O’nassis passed away. The class was able to watch the funeral procession on the class room television that was fixed to the wall. I glanced at her to see her expression. She was without expression but tears were rolling down her cheek. I’ll miss her authenticity. - Brandy Seymour

What set Mrs. Cobb apart was she created a sense of belonging for her students, not only in the classroom but in the world. She made you feel valued and set high expectations. She changed my life in more ways than she will ever know. I will carry her in my heart forever. I remember her telling me on graduation day “try to leave the world a little better than you found it and you will be alright.” My favorite teacher....always. May you now Rest In Peace. Love, Amy Saatzer

I've known Linda since age 10 as my best dressed classmate, colleague, and sidekick in our later years. She was a master teacher and I chose her to cover for me during my cancer treatments as my substitute. She was always a centerpiece at NHS "choir practices." We attended teacher organization conventions together. We attended party events together. My husband, Charlie, who is shy, always felt comfortable around Linda as someone he could talk to easily. My daughter Brandianne became friends with Linda as an adult when neither realized last names or connection some 30 years ago. She was in a "fab five" group of retired friends of NHS Class of '67--Judy Graham, Colleen Hickman, Rhonda Jacobs & me, of course. We went to plays, shows, movies and dinners. She had many trials that she weathered always with a look to the future. One of our last junkets together was when she was so fragile but went to see a band she wanted to hear. Linda looked for fun. She used to come over for my famous St. Patrick's Day parties and we would have movie days watching "chick flicks." We were planning another that was never able to happen. She believed in survival and worked at it with courage. I am so saddened to lose Linda, but glad she has peace at last. All my love and profound sympathy to her whole family, friends and ex-students who adored her. Rest in peace, enduring friend. Love, Susan & Charlie Streetman & family

Mrs. Cobb was not just a teacher. She was not just kind or caring. She was actively all of these things, well beyond just when I was in her classroom 15 years ago. She heralded my achievements more than I did and the world is a better place for her presence, yet worse for her departure. She will be missed.

James, I am so sorry to hear this sad news. You and your family are all in my prayers. I pray for the Lord to give you peace and comfort during this time. The only consolation is knowing that she is whole again and no longer in pain. I am sure she was happily greeted by her parents and Johnnie Dale. Sorry I can’t make the services, loving in Rockport. Please take care of yourself and know God will see you through this. Hugs and prayers.:skin-tone-2::pray::skin-tone-2::pray::skin-tone-2::pray::skin-tone-2::pray::skin-tone-2::pray::skin-tone-2:
