Linda Lee Franke, 74, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Linda was born on January 13, 1948 in Beaumont, Texas to the late Howard Lewis and Verla Yoder Lewis.
Linda was a loving wife to Henry for 55 years. The two of them shared all of life’s adventures together, fulfilling many dreams. Linda especially loved the adventure of travel. Linda particularly enjoyed Alaska, Canada, Yellowstone and the East/West Coasts of the US. She was also a loving sister and aunt. Her thoughtful way of taking interest in the lives of her family was very special. Her generous loving care and support was unforgettable. Watching her nieces and nephews grow up and have families of their own gave her tremendous joy. Linda retired from DuPont Credit Union, enjoying a 20+ year career where she started out as a teller and rose to the Vice President position. Some of Linda’s interests included: spending time with friends from her graduating Class of 1966; tending to her plants and flowers; walks and golf cart rides around her neighborhood. She was an avid reader and loved learning new things. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Those left behind to cherish Linda’s memory are her loving husband of 55 years, Henry Franke, Jr. of Nederland; her sister, Louann Hudson and her husband, Sonny of Irving; her sister, Lori Matt and her husband, Nicky of Nederland; her brother, Rusty Lewis and his wife, Lorie of Port Arthur; her nieces and nephews, Drew Hudson, Adam Hudson, Logan Earp, Lindsay Kalenkosky, Lauren Mullins, Alec Lewis, Noah Lewis, Ginger Otto, Wendy Cooper, Treva Phillips, Kate Windham; and several loving great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Linda is preceded in death by her parents.
A gathering of family and friends for a visitation will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas. A funeral service for Linda will immediately follow the visitation and will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Melancon’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County Cemetery in Nederland, Texas.
