Linda Dale Smith, 71, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at the Medical Center in Port Arthur, Texas.

Linda was born on November 25, 1950, in Port Arthur, Texas to Teres Hines Evans and Leo Evans. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1969 and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Nederland. Linda was a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandma who loved her family dearly and was extremely religious and had a strong faith. She loved gardening and shopping especially at Dillard’s in Port Arthur. Linda was loved by all of her family and friends and will be missed dearly by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Linda is survived by her son, Weldon Smith and his fiancée’ Robin Dyson of Orange; daughter, Tracey Duprie and her husband Lester of Jasper; grandchildren, Autumn Kegley and her husband Dereck, Joleen Pipes, William Smith, Austin Smith, L.J. Duprie, Reece Duprie and Destiny LaBarge; great grandson, Carson Provo. Linda is preceded in death by her husband of twenty-three years, H.C. Smith and her sister, Marilyn Evans.

A visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2022, at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland. A service to Honor the Life of Linda Dale Smith will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2022, at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland.
