Lindol J. Gregory

1922 ∼ 2011

On Friday December 16, 2011, Lindol J. Gregory went to be with the Lord at 89 years of age and is now in heaven with our Lord. He was born on August 1, 1922 in Enid, Oklahoma. A retired Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Corp serving in World War II, he was a former deacon at First Baptist Church, Groves as well as Trinity Baptist Church in Port Arthur. Lindol was also active in the Port Arthur Gideons and Golden Agers at Trinity Baptist Church in Port Arthur. Lindol retired as the Tax Assessor Collector for Nederland Independent School District in 1988. Lindol is survived by Dorothy, his loving wife of 16 years, and children: Lewis (Lue Ellen) Gregory, Bruce (Myra) Gregory, Debra (Donnie) Vinardi, Cynthia (Alan) Thomas, and Pamela (Oliver) Wight. Stepchildren include Darrell (Tina) Gorre, Tim (Shirley) Gorre, Suzanne (Charles) Lillard. He is also survived by his brother Robert (Tess) Gregory. He had 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, and 3 step great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by Iretta Gregory his loving wife of 48 years, his parents, William and Olga (Ahsmuhs) Gregory, and brother, Bill Gregory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gideons International or Source Ministries International, founded by Dr. Lewis Gregory, P. O. Box 391852, Snellville, GA 30039. Visitation for Lindol Gregory is Tuesday, December 20 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves from 4-7 PM. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at First Baptist Church, Groves with Dr. Lewis Gregory and Dr. Joe Worley officiating. Lewis, I do know the feeling that follows the death of a father. Knowing that God's plan is sufficient and that his "grace' and "love" continues with us though the following days on this earth. My prayers are for you and your family as you see God's love during this shadow of the valley.

Dear Gregory Family - I plan on attending the funeral services, but there is just now a severe snow storm predicted. So in case I don't make it, my sincere condolences to the Gregory Family. Lyndol is in heaven for sure. Tim Gorre & Family
