Lois Ann Veillon, passed away in Port Arthur, Texas, on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on November 8, 1937, in Port Neches, Texas, Lois spent her early years raising her family and dedicating time to her community.
A proud alumna of Port Neches-Groves High School, graduating in the class of 1957, Lois served her community as a Crossing Guard with the Port Neches Police Department for 18 years. This role allowed her to develop lifelong friendships with several families that she came to know.
Lois was a lifelong member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches. She had a great sense of humor that brought joy to many and endeared her to friends and family alike. Lois cherished the simple pleasures of life; she had a passion for arts and crafts, enjoyed playing cards, and found true happiness in the company of her grandchildren, Seth and Lauren Cathey.
She is survived by her son, Christopher Veillon of Port Neches; her daughter, Donna Cathey, and her husband, Eddie, also of Port Neches; her cherished grandchildren; Seth Cathey and Lauren Cathey, and her dear sister, Ruby McCormack.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Lucy Trahan; her devoted husband, Joseph Donald Veillon; her son, Victor Veillon; and her siblings, Paul Trahan and Mary Piazza.
Her legacy of love and laughter will continue to echo in the hearts of those who knew her. A visitation will be held on October 15, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service on October 16, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., these are occurring at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home,1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas, 77627. Interment will be held at Memory Gardens in Nederland, Texas.
Lois Ann Veillon will be greatly missed, but her spirit will forever remain alive in the memories she leaves behind.
