Lonnie Jay Faircloth, Jr., 43, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away August 3, 2012 at the Senior Rehab Nursing Home in Port Arthur. He was born in Woodville, Texas on February 28, 1969 to Lonnie Jay Faircloth, Sr. and Sandra Kay Meeks. Although, Jay attended special schools far away, his family would bring him home often or go visit him. He was included in every family activity. Jay could not see or hear but he could smell. He was very loving and gentle to everyone. When meeting people, he would pull them close to smell them and kiss them. Jay enjoyed people bringing him foods and special treats. He especially loved peppermints.Funeral services will be held at Melancons Funeral Home in Nederland on Monday, August 6, 2012 at 1:00 p.m., Rev. Mickey Hebert officiating. Interment will follow at Antiock Cemetery in Woodville, Texas at 4:00 p.m. A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.Jay is survived by his mother, Sandy Benoit and stepfather, Ruston Benoit of Port Arthur sister, Felicia Lilley and husband Rodger of Nederland grandmother, Lottie Faircloth of Doucette nieces, Amanda Lilley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Loni Lilley of Nederland and cousin, Ricky Payne of Fitzgerald, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Jay Faircloth, Sr.The family would like to sincerely thank Jays staff at the Senior Rehab and Odyssey Hospice.
