Loranzo “Charles” Carr, 91, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Friday, September 18, 2020. Charles was born in Fannett, Texas on May 2, 1929 to the late, Loranzo Carr and Ella Hargraves Carr.
Charles served his country proudly for 5 years in the United States Air Force where he served as an Airplane Specialist. He was a retired Lab Technician with 33 years of service with DuPont. Charles enjoyed many hobbies including woodworking, playing the guitar, the fiddle which he started playing at 7 years old, the piano as well as the accordion. Charles loved music and had the special talent of picking up an instrument and playing it by ear.
Those left to cherish Charles’ memory include his loving children, Larry Carr and his wife, Susan, Ruth Lafosse and her husband, Gary and Charlie Carr and his wife, Tammy; his sister, Debbie Dunn and her husband, Gary; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Lorene Carr; his sister Melba Carr and his step-mother, Ruby Gray Carr.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Central Gardens Baptist Church, 114 4th Avenue in Nederland, Texas on Saturday, September 26, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with the funeral service to begin at 2:00 p.m., Brother Jimmy Robbins, officiant. Enterment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County.
