Loretta June Robbins, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 after a brief hospital stay in Houston.
Born June 21, 1938, in Dallas, TX to Roy and Marcella Pursur. She grew up in Dallas where she met and married her husband, Jimmy Joe Robbins. They were married 64 years. Loretta followed Jimmy through college and seminary. She was a devoted wife and mother. She took care of the home and kids and made home a safe warm place to grow up. She moved to Ohio in 1965 and lived and ministered to families there for 13 years before returning to Texas in December 1979. She was a member of Central Gardens Baptist Church.
Loretta is survived by her husband, Rev. Jimmy Joe Robbins; sons, Jimmy A. Robbins and his wife, Beverly, Jeffery Robbins; daughters, Deanna Robbins, Donna Smith and her husband, Kirby; 7 grandchildren, Daniel Robbins and his wife, Nicole, Amy Robbins and her fiancé, Mark, Andrew Robbins and his wife, Taylor, Marcella Smith, Madeline Juarez and her husband, Trevor, Lauren Robbins and her fiancé, Drake, Hunter Robbins; 3 precious great grandchildren, Mackenzie Robbins, Samuel Robbins, Aubrey Jo Juarez and Lillian Mae Robbins who is due in March; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Roy Pursur, Jr. and Robert Pursur; and her beloved fur baby, Rascal - I think she almost loved him more than dad.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at First Baptist Church Port Neches on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will be held at the church, immediately following the visitation, and will begin at 11:00 a.m. A Private burial will take place at a later date at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery in Emory, TX.
