Lorraine Ancelet
Lorraine Ancelet, 87, of Rayne, Louisiana, passed away on January 15, 2023, at Ochsner Acadia General Hospital in Crowley, Louisiana.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, January 19, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas.
Lorraine was born in Crowley, LA, on January 23, 1935, she was the daughter of Al LaVerne and Joyce Spell-LaVerne. She was an Assistant Dietician for Port Neches Groves Independent School District before retiring. She was also a member of her rosary group on Wednesdays. She had a love for making and decorating wedding cakes, birthday cakes, and any other for celebrations.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Becky Sumlin, and her two brothers, Alvoyd LaVerne and Melvin LaVerne.
She is survived by her husband, Polycarpe Ancelet of Crowley, LA; daughter, Gwen Ancelet of Groves, Texas; son, Ted Ancelet and his wife Tracie of Knoxille, TN; seven grandchildren, Brandon Frakes and his wife Bevin; Devon Fults and her husband Josh; Jason Robinson and his wife Claudia; Avery Ancelet, Aidan Ancelet; Addison Ancelet; and Ancelet Abel; nine great-grandchildren; her sisters, Judy Dugas and her husband Charles of Plainview, TX; and Dana Boone and her husband Aubrey of Groves, Texas
