She is also survived by her sister, Patti Ann Anderson of The Woodlands.

Lou Anne had a passion for bringing people together and cherished the time she spent playing board games and card games with her family, always prioritizing family above all else. She enjoyed crocheting afghans for each of her children and grandchildren. She was also known for her culinary talents, delighting loved ones with her cooking. In addition, Lou Anne enjoyed fishing and was an avid bowler, having been a member of numerous leagues in Port Arthur, and enjoyed working on puzzles during her leisure time. Her love for art was evident in her collection of oil paintings and Beanie Babies, showcasing her vibrant personality.

Lou Anne's family and friends will remember her not only for her accomplishments but for the love and warmth she shared with everyone around her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Marie Lawrence, and her great-grandchild, Luke Simmons.

A visitation will be held to honor her memory on April 25, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, TX 77627. She looks so beautiful in the picture, just as remembered. She was beautiful inside as well as out. I have many special childhood memories with "Miss Lou" as we called her, and of her wonderful family. Always a kind, warm smile and caring heart to greet you. My heart goes out to the family and my prayers are with you all. I know she is happy in heaven with her new body and will always watch over all of her family and loved ones. Aunt Lou was the kind of person who made the world feel a little softer, a little funnier, and a whole lot warmer. From her legendary hugs to her infectious laugh that could light up a room, she had a way of making everyone feel like they mattered. Her stories somehow always turned into life lessons, and the way you could make even the most ordinary moment feel special. She taught me more than she probably realized — like the sacred rule of dishwashing: “If the water isn’t scalding hot, that glass will never be clean.” I still can’t load a dishwasher without thinking of her voice in my head. Even after I grew up and moved away, Aunt Lou always made a point to see me when I came into town. No matter how busy life got, she showed up—warm smile, tight hug, and all the love in the world. To my dear cousins Edie, Willie, and Carlton — I am so sorry for the loss of your incredible mother. And to my Uncle Clifford, may God give you strength and comfort during this most difficult time. Thank you, Aunt Lou, for the laughs, the lessons, and the countless memories. Your warmth and wisdom will be with me always.
