I remember visiting Louis and Rosetta in their store when I was a little girl, back in 1960. Louis would say,”What a beautiful little blond haired girl.” I would scream “leave me alone” at the top of my lungs and embarrass my Mother. He got the biggest kick out of this routine we had. He was so kind and patient and was an integral part of my childhood. Godspeed, Louis.

I attend St Catherine's Parish and Mr. Melanson was always nice to me and my family. My granddaughters would talk to him and he'd be so kind to them. He even gave each of them ink pens and Saint Anthony's pendants. May God bless his soul.

I enjoyed being one of Louis caregivers. It was a pleasure to take care of him. He brought many smiles to me. He was a sweetheart and I loved him and he will be greatly missed. I would like to say a big thank you to the family also for always making me feel special.

Louis was a wonderful man. He was so fun to be with and a wonderful cook ...he would give you the shirt off his back. Holy man. Love from all your Dominican sisters in Houston.
