Louis Franklin Bowen

1943 ∼ 2019

Louis Franklin Bowen was born February 4, 1943, and went to meet his Savior on August 16, 2019. Louis married his beautiful wife Virginia and they celebrated 58 years of marriage in June. Louis and Virginia have two children Greg and Jill. Greg and his wife Diana live in Houston, TX and his daughter Jill and her fiancé live in Glendale, CA. The distance between he and his grandchildren Lauren, Katherine, Corey and Skylar never impacted his love for them.

Louis Bowen was a man of many hats, literally, he had at least 100 hats, at all times. The hats he enjoyed wearing the most, was the hat of a loving husband, a father, a gifted athlete, and the hat of a self-made, business owner. Louis had a love of music, if you hum a few bars, he would sing the rest of the song. He truly carried a song in his heart.

His light hearted nature and loyalty made him an easy man to call your friend, and he has many. Louis has never met a stranger. He would talk to anyone, and would help everyone who needed it. A devout Christian, who lived his life based on his beliefs. In 76 years Louis has accomplished much....

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Monday, August 19, 2019 from 12:00p.m. to 2:00p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00p.m.

So very sorry to hear this. Can't believe that he isn't playing tennis 4-5 times a week. He was a very good friend during all the years of our kids growing up. He will surely be missed but I know that he'll be trying to find someone in Heaven to play against. Prayers for all of the family.
