He passed away peacefully at The Village on the Park-Steeplechase in Houston, Texas, due to Alzheimer’s-related congestive heart failure. Bubba was born to Louis Hebert and Ida Mae Hebert in Port Arthur, Texas. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. As a devout Catholic he has been a member of: St. Mary’s, St. James, St. Peter’s, Immaculate Conception, and St. Maximillian Kolbe churches over the span of his life.

He is preceded in death by his lovely wife of 65 years, Mary Louise “Lou” Hebert; his parents, Louis and Ida Mae Hebert; his sister, Myrna Smith and his sister, Wendolyn "Tillie" Baker.
Love at first sight, Bubba married Lou at 19 years old and fathered five children by the time he was 25 years old. He worked at the Texaco Refinery for approximately 35 years in the lab as a technician and would paint houses for extra income, when he was not at the plant. Not only did he work two jobs, but he also coached baseball for several years. His heart was a giving soul. For many years, Bubba was active in the catholic organization “Society of Saint Vincent de Paul” whose members help the poor and needy. He maintained his sense of humor until the very end, often making the caregivers and residents fall in love with him instantly. He was, without a doubt, the definition of a true Christian family man and a father everyone looked up to as an example of how to be a loving and kind human being.
The family would like to thank everyone at the Village on the Park-Steeplechase senior living facility. Our heartfelt gratitude to all who took care of Bubba these past few years. The Village was such a huge blessing to both Bubba and Lou and the entire Hebert family. We would also like to express our deepest appreciation to everyone at Bristol Hospice who helped guide us through Bubba’s transition and passing. To all the caregivers, your kind and caring bedside manner is deeply appreciated during this difficult time. Thank you all for the compassion shown.
