Lucian Crayton

Lucian "Jack" Crayton, 92, of Groves, Texas passed away Monday, January 10, 2011 at Magnolia Manor in Groves, Texas. Jack was born April 12, 1918 in Sour Lake, Texas and was adopted by Thomas Jefferson Crayton and Sybil Scott Crayton. He was a resident of this area for 65 years and was retired from Honeywell were he worked as a pipefitter through Pipefitters Local #195. He was a member of Cosmopolitan Lodge #872 and served in the CCC Camp during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda L. Crayton. Survivors include his daughter, Mary Gotcher and husband, Joe of Nederland; brother, T. J. Crayton and wife, Wanda of Dayton; grandchildren, Jeffrey Gotcher, Jeremy Gotcher and Jamye Gotcher Lewis; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas with Reverend Jim Durdin officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday evening from 5:00p.m.-7:00p.m. at the funeral home.
