Lucille Marie Vickers, 79, of Nederland, Texas passed away September 7, 2020. She was born on December 6, 1940 in Oakdale, Louisiana to the late James C. Bass and Lucille Ware Bass.
Lucille was a member of The Gathering Place. She loved crafts, quilting, sewing, cooking, but she loved playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren more. Lucille loved studying her bible and was a wonderful loving Christian woman. Her joy was sharing the love of Jesus Christ.
Those left to cherish Lucille’s memory are her husband, Henry “Vick” Vickers of Nederland; her daughter, Toni M. Galaviz of Groves; her sons, Fred C. Vickers and his wife, Wendy of Nederland and Paul J. Vickers and his wife, Deborah of Nederland; her step-son, Woodrow Farmer and his wife, Lisa of Carthage; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Beulah Rivas, Gloria Jean Thibodeaux, Delma Allen, Frances Bass, and Donna Kay Johnson; and her brother, Gerald Bass. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, James “Huey” Bass and Franklin Bass.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service being held at 11:00 a.m., Pastor John Ortiz officiant. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
