Lynda "Meme" Stampley, a cherished member of the Nederland community, peacefully departed this life on March 17, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 19, 1941, in Ben Wheeler, Texas, and lived a life full of love, service, and devotion to her family.

Lynda dedicated many years of her life to a fulfilling career as a secretary, retiring from her position at Caleb Brett in Nederland. Her work ethic and commitment were evident throughout her career. A proud graduate of Tyler Junior College, she valued education and lifelong learning.

Lynda's greatest joy came from her family, whom she adored deeply. She took immense pleasure in spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, never missing an event or activity they participated in. Her love for them was palpable, and she cherished every moment spent in their company. She was known for her culinary talents, often preparing holiday meals and special treats, including her famous milkshakes, pancakes, and grilled cheese sandwiches. Her crafting skills brought delight to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, as she created beautiful items with love.

A devoted member of First Methodist Church in Nederland, Lynda was actively involved in her community. Alongside her husband, Jack, she gave her time and heart as a foster parent, providing a nurturing environment for children in need. This selfless dedication is a testament to her caring spirit and the impact she had on those around her.

Lynda is survived by her husband, Jack Stampley; children Gena Stampley Worsham and her husband, Richard, Scott Stampley and his wife, Wendi, and Kevin Stampley and his wife, Gina; as well as 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, who will carry forward her legacy of love and warmth.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Lynon Stringer and Grace (Beggs) Stringer, and her sister, Imogene Butler. Lynda's family finds solace in the memories shared and the love she imparted to each of them.

Lynda will be remembered for her nurturing spirit, her culinary delights, and her unwavering love for family. She touched the lives of many and will be profoundly missed.

Heartfelt thanks to Lynda's caregivers, Rameka and Judy, and Denise with Amedisys Hospice for the love and care they provided to her and her family during this difficult time.
