Lynell I. Daigle, 84, of Groves, Texas died Monday, January 23, 2012 at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. Lynell was born September 29, 1927 in Mansfield, Louisiana to Sloan Fletcher Irvin and Dena Edwards Irvin. She was a resident of this area since 1938 and a retired Licensed Vocational Nurse at Mid-Jefferson Hospital with 15 years of service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Groves and Port Neches VFW Post #4820 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed and was a champion bowler. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at the funeral home. Lynell was preceded in death by her son, Alvin "Skippy" Sloan Daigle. Surviving relatives include her husband, Raymond Daigle, Sr. of Groves, Texas; sons, Raymond "Scooter" Daigle, Jr. and wife Marilyn of Houston, Texas; Gary Daigle and wife Penny of Port Neches, Texas; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Daigle of Houston, Texas; sister, Sue Faulk and husband Phil; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; cousin, Eursale Jackson of San Antonio, Texas; special great niece, Renee Stephens and husband Mark of Magnolia Springs, Texas.

Mawmaw Daigle was a very, very speical person. She touched many lives through her love. Those of us blessed to be close to her saw an example of true love & acceptance. We are thankful for so many memories & all of them are good ones.
