Mable Elizabeth Falcon Garrett, 90, passed away peacefully at her daughter39s home in Baton Rouge, La., Wednesday, February 2, 2011. She was born June 19, 1920 in Fannett. She was a resident of Nederland, and a member of St. Charles Catholic Church where she was very involved with church activities most of her life. She was also an active member of Port Neches Senior Citizens Center as well as many other organizations. Visitation will be 5 to 8 PM Friday February 11, 2011 at Melancon39s Funeral Home, Nederland. A Rosary will be recited in the Chapel at 12:30 PM on Saturday, February 12, 2011. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM, with Rev. David Placette officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens in Nederland. Our Mother was a 39mover and shaker39, very outspoken, fiery and feisty, and was very proud to be 1st cousin to Joe Falcon who recorded the first Cajun song entitled quotAlons a39 Lafayettequot in 1928, which she sang almost daily. She loved and was loved by everyone she knew. Mom was a very special person and we all miss her deeply. Survived by daughters Celina Bonfanti and husband Dominic of Baton Rouge, La.
