Mae Spell Kane Willey, 95, of Mansfield, TX, passed away quietly on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Methodist Mansfield Hospital in Mansfield, TX. She was born on April 27, 1914 in New Iberia, LA to the late Duffy Spell and Evalie Mary Mayer and was a former resident of Nederland, TX. Mae was a retired clerical worker from Lamar University and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Nederland, TX. She was the loving mother of Kathy Kane Foster, Mansfield devoted stepmother to Donna Monk, Port Neches beloved sister of Beatrice Carter, Wildwood, TX halfsister of Martha Bearwald, Aurora, IL Tommy Spell, Bothell, WA and Bibsir Spell, DeQuincy, LA. Mae was the devoted grandmother of grandson Michael Doise, Austin, TX and four step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Fredric Kane and James A. Willey. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday, March 28, from 5:00 pm 7:00 pm. at Heritage Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Monday, March 29 at 10:00 am at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, TX with Rev. Kevin Otto officiating.
