Maedress Mary Allred, 89, of Groves, Texas passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. Maedress was born May 8, 1929 in Sumrall, Mississippi to Fred Isaac Kendrick and Chillie Housley Kendrick. She was a lifelong area resident and a charter member of Friendship Baptist Church. Maedress retired as a respiratory therapist from Doctors Hospital after 26 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Allred; sister, Glenda Faye Caldwell; brothers, Ray Kendrick and Norman Kendrick. Survivors include her son, Rickey Allred and wife Debbie of Bryan, TX; grandchildren, Jordan Collier and Adam Allred. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Rev. Buddy Evans officiating. Burial will be at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
