Magdalena Alba Montalvo

Magdalena Alba Montalvo, 60, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Friday, December 30, 2022, at Ben Taub Hospital in Houston, Texas. Magdalena was born August 12, 1962 in Mexico to Maria Del Rosario Montalvo and Jesus Alba Villa.
Magdalena was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Arthur. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Magdalena held incredible strength while fighting cancer for the last two years. She was a compassionate person and was always helping others however she could.
Magdalena was preceded in death by her parents, Maria Del Rosario Montalvo and Jesus Alba Villa; sister, Ortencia Alba.
Those left to cherish Magdalena’s memory are her husband, of 38 years, Rosendo Galvan of Port Arthur, Texas; daughters, Iyari Galvan of Port Arthur, Texas; Maria Galvan and her husband, Raul Cerrillo of Port Arthur, Texas; grandchildren, Gibram Cerrillo, Sugey Cerrillo, Saydali Lopez, Jonael Lopez and Aiden Cerrillo; and a host of brothers and sisters.
A visitation will family and friends will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m., at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. A Celebration of Magdalena’s Life will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. A cremation will take place following the service for Ms. Magdalena.

Magdalena Alba Montalvo, de 60 años, de Port Arthur, Texas, falleció el viernes 30 de diciembre de 2022 en el Hospital Ben Taub en Houston, Texas. Magdalena nació el 12 de agosto de 1962 en México de María Del Rosario Montalvo y Jesús Alba Villa.

Magdalena era feligresa de la Iglesia Católica St. Joseph en Port Arthur. Fue una amorosa esposa, madre y abuela. Magdalena mantuvo una fuerza increíble mientras luchaba contra el cáncer durante los últimos dos años. Era una persona compasiva y siempre estaba ayudando a los demás como podía.

A Magdalena le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, María Del Rosario Montalvo y Jesús Alba Villa; hermana, Ortencia Alba.

Los que quedan para atesorar la memoria de Magdalena son su esposo, de 38 años, Rosendo Galván de Port Arthur, Texas; hijas, Iyari Galvan de Port Arthur, Texas; María Galván y su esposo, Raúl Cerrillo de Port Arthur, Texas; nietos, Gibram Cerrillo, Sugey Cerrillo, Saydali Lopez, Jonael Lopez y Aiden Cerrillo; y una multitud de hermanos y hermanas.

Se realizará un velorio a familiares y amigos el miércoles 4 de enero de 2023 de 5:00 p.m. hasta las 20:00 horas, rezando un rosario a las 18:00 horas, en Melancon’s Funeral Home de Holanda. Se celebrará una celebración de la vida de Magdalena a las 10:00 a. m. del jueves 5 de enero de 2023 en Melancon’s Funeral Home en Nederland. Se llevará a cabo una cremación después del servicio para la Sra. Magdalena.
